Having a nightmare at the minute trying to find anyone to supply us with E10. Eon are billing us to a related MPAN setup basically meaning we get charged E7 for the day and night rate and then normal 1 rate prices for the heating/boiler rate. This is ridiculous as they should be charging night rate prices for rate 3.
Anyone know of any supplier who’ll take a new E10 customer? Tried SSE who refuse to take any new customers and phoned EDF who said the same.

Hey Andy, I would do that the trouble is I have 2 MPAN’s and a 3 rate meter. So I have;
Rate 1 Night
Rate 2 Day
Rate 3 Off peak
As rate 3 is on a separate MPAN these suppliers all seem to charge that rate as a standard 1 rate cost so I effectively pay alot more for my heating/hot water than I should.
From researching it seems E10 meters post 2012 were simplified to be just 2 readings (which may be what yours is?) and I’d love to have one of those fitted but can’t find a single supplier that will do it 🙁14th October 2022 at 5:26 pm #10218AndyTParticipant

I’ll need to upload an image to a imgur or something later and post link by looks of it, regarding my meter its a 5 terminal and there is a dedicated off-peak line (the 5th terminal) that is separate from the main. Funnily enough I work for an energy company but we have never supported E10 so my knowledge is very weak.

My mum’s in a similar predicament. She has a dual rate meter feeding the main fuse board and doing all the lights and sockets, then a separate single rate meter with a different MPAN doing the storage heaters and immersions for hot water. She was forced to switch across to a flat rate for all 3 meters a year or so ago, and is now paying £780 a month DD for a single person on a pension is ridicules but we’re out of options as no one will take on new customers with “complex meters” I believe the term the suppliers like to use. Ofgem were about as useful as a cat flap in an elephant house, I’m still waiting for a call back from March this year, in the meantime her DD is going up and up.27th October 2022 at 12:48 pm #10223Dave BerreyParticipant
In reply to the query about the 3 rates plus 2 MPANS, I was in the same position on a tariff from SSE called Superdeal. It’s as you describe with 3 rates. I had to change to a smart meter on economy 10, and loose one MPAN. I now have the more normal 2 rates. Anyone on the Superdeal tariff is being taken off as the radio signal controlling the switching is being shut down(eventually!)27th October 2022 at 3:28 pm #10224C FewParticipant

I’m currently in a complaint with eonnext over fitting a new E10 meter… Initially they said yes and now they say they don’t fit them. However looking at the eon forum it appears people are still having them fitted!27th October 2022 at 3:30 pm #10225C FewParticipant

I am still with SSE, I was offered an E10 account with OVO, but after loads of long calls contradicting each other they agreed they used to support E10 but don’t now. They use the same meters for their OVO accounts(Alclara) as I have for my SSE service. I got back to SSE because they acknowledged they had given incorrect information. But as you say SSE won’t offer E10 to new customers.
